Getting the best out of our lessons

Personalised pathways for every swimmer.

We know families have countless options, yet we firmly believe we provide the strongest service for learn-to-swim lessons and beyond. Here’s why:

  • Everything is adjusted to the individual swimmer—from extra support and reassurance to bespoke updates for parents and guardians.
  • We can pivot to 1:1 or 2:1 coaching while other providers chase large class numbers.
  • Director Emma personally trains every instructor and assistant to Duck N’ Dive standard with year-round mentoring.
  • We maintain strong links with Telford Aqua Swimming Club and water-based sports groups so transitions to club life feel seamless.

Class sizes stay deliberately small: a maximum of six children per class across stages 1–4 and seven children in stages 5–7. We uphold a 3:1 ratio with one assistant and one instructor in the water to provide constant, in-pool support.

From the first splash, we weave in water safety and lifesaving skills, dedicating a full week each summer to essential rescue training for every level.

Quality pillars

What makes our instruction stand out

Every detail—from staffing to safety—is engineered to help swimmers thrive.

Class size discipline

Maximum of six swimmers in stages 1–4 and seven in stages 5–7 keeps learning personal and calm.

Ongoing training

Continuous CPD and mentoring mean coaches bring fresh ideas and Duck N’ Dive energy to every lane.

Water safety culture

Lifesaving skills are introduced from day one and celebrated during our dedicated summer safety week.

Partnering with parents

Small preparations amplify every lesson.

As a parent or guardian, you play a huge role in ensuring your child’s development and value for money. You can support us by:

  • Understanding and respecting pool rules—they protect every swimmer’s safety and enjoyment.
  • Talking about lessons at home so your child knows how they best learn and feels confident asking for help.
  • Praising every effort and sharing any concerns away from poolside so we can respond quickly.
  • Preparing for lessons the night before and letting us know if you forget anything—we will help where we can.
  • Tidying the little things like tying hair back or choosing snug shorts to support great leg action.
  • Reading all pool rules and chatting with us—we love hearing both feedback and good news.

We’re always here for a conversation, whether you need reassurance or want to celebrate a milestone.

Crash courses

Intensive boosts across the school year.

During February, Easter, May, Summer, and October half-terms we run focused crash courses with half-hour or hour-long group sessions.

These short, powerful bursts prepare new swimmers for lessons and sharpen technique and stamina for those already in our programme. Contact us now for more information as spaces fill quickly.
